  • Jack Plant

    CO-FOUNDER

    Jack brings 20-plus years of multimedia experience to MuleTown Sound, Inc. With time spent in the radio, sports television and newspaper industries, Jack provides an intimate knowledge of producing and creating content on multiple platforms.

    Jack comes from a musical family with both parents and sister spending time as professional artists or time with traveling groups. That love of music paired with his love of sports has shaped his broad approach to content creation that is both professional and lively. Having lived and worked in both large markets like Atlanta as sports editor of two weekly newspapers, and Charlotte as producer of pregame shows for both the NBA’s Charlotte Bobcats (Now Hornets) and the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes, and small markets like Columbia and Lawrenceburg in his home state in radio presenter, programing and management roles, Jack can connect with audiences from multiple backgrounds and cultures. In addition to co-founding Southern Roots Radio,

    Jack also spends his fall Saturdays producing Middle Tennessee Football Radio broadcasts for the Blue Raider Network while also serving as co-host of the pregame and halftime shows. He also serves as a Long-Term Care Benefits Specialist at Harwell & Plant Attorneys at Law in Lawrenceburg. Jack lives in his hometown of Lawrenceburg, TN with his wife Jody and their five pets. He is an avid tailgater specializing in BBQ, Bourbon and SEC Football and hosts a seasonal podcast Southern Roots Football Show focusing on football in the South and the secondary passions surrounding the sport available on SouthernRootsRadio.com and wherever you get quality podcasts

  • Brenda Lynn Allen

    CO-FOUNDER

    Brenda Lynn is a Columbia, Tennessee native who caught the musical bug early when introduced to a wide range of music while growing up. She learned how to carefully weave her love for traditional country and classic jazz with modern musical elements to capture the attention of music enthusiasts.

    She is a singer, songwriter, entertainer and media host who has been performing on stage for most of her life. Brenda Lynn has opened for artists such as Leona Williams, Sylvia, Buddy Jewell, Doug Stone, David Frizzell, Grand Ole Opry member, Rhonda Vincent, The Bellamy Brothers and is scheduled to open for TG Sheppard in 2024. She has made multiple appearances on Nashville’s WSM’s legendary Ernest Tubb Midnight Jamboree and is also featured regularly on live radio shows throughout MIddle Tennessee.

    As a performer, Brenda Lynn has made appearances on local Nashville TV shows and RFD-TV’s “The Penny Gilley Show.” She has been featured in Billboard Magazine as well as and other international publications.

    Brenda Lynn Allen expanded her musical career in 2020 when she started hosting Around The Bend With Brenda Lynn live on the FM airwaves 5 days a week. She continues to host a weekly syndicated broadcast of her show in addition to co-hosting “Swanky Southern Nights” with Makky Kaylor.

  • Makky Kaylor

    CO-FOUNDER

    From Memphis to Music Row to Muletown… Songwriter/Singer/Entertainer Makky Kaylor was named “The Tennessee Troubadour” by the state of Tennessee in 2023. Makky’s original song “Tennessee, In My Dreams” is also being carried forward in legislation to be an official TN State Song. Often called “The Mayor of The Muletown Sound” by media, Makky also has his own “Makky Kaylor’s Swanky South Day” in Maury County.

    Past work has included years as an A-list session singer and successful songwriter on Music Row. Makky has recently been featured on various networks including The Family Channel, RFD-TV, Heartland, Country Network, Hulu/ABC and more. Makky’s “They Saw A King” (co-written with Larry Gatlin) was a featured video in over 300 million homes during December 2022 and featured Christmas night on the Grand Ole Opry by Teea Goans. Makky was also the featured Artist for the Christmas Tree Lighting in “Muletown” Columbia, TN in 2022.

    A Co-Founder of Southern Roots Radio based in downtown Columbia, his radio shows include “Swanky Southern Nights” with co-host Brenda Lynn Allen and the brand new “Tennessee Troubadour Show.” Makky’s music is available on all digital formats. Makky has overcome major health issues by the grace of God and lives and makes music with a heart of sincere gratitude. As he says often… Onward

    CHIEF MARKETING & FINANCIAL OFFICER

    Dave is an experienced and motivated marketing professional with expertise in strategic communication, business development, management, and interpersonal skills. He has a proven track record of excelling in diverse mediums, including writing, audio production, photography, and video.

    Dave has unique strengths in fostering relationships with clients, vendors, suppliers, media, refining brands for national and global companies. He played a pivotal role in exploring market conditions and uncovering potential sales opportunities for military and industrial technology products. Dave is also skilled in analyzing data and providing strategic recommendations.

    In his role with a software company, Dave successfully shaped and executed annual strategic marketing plans, managed budgets, and amplified public relations programs. He spearheaded a multifaceted marketing team, directed national programs, and played a pivotal role in rebranding. His expertise in mergers and acquisitions research, evaluation, and communication underscores his adeptness in navigating the intricate terrains of many businesses.

    As an accomplished photographer his work is currently on exhibit at the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art. He loves to travel, research historic connections, music of all kinds, astronomy, and meeting people. Dave provides business management and marketing for Southern Roots Radio. He lives in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and travels to Columbia, Tennessee regularly.
